Well, it’s finally the start of the new work schedule I’ve somehow managed to negotiate with my boss, Shawn Hall. Although technically I’m working Sunday evenings US, in reality that means I work during Monday mornings to afternoons in the Philippines, which is still fine. It gives me more leway in my studies, which, even at this early point, seem daunting, especially since I haven’t opened an academic book or read anything remotely educational for more than two years.
Speaking of new schedules, as per custom I went to the office on my bike… Unfortunately, the old kicker is showing the signs of all the abuse I’ve placed on it for the past year; pedal plate is making those clicking noises again, much like those old grandfather clocks except turned up in volume to its limit, and the gear shift dials are more recalcitrant than an old bull these days. What’s worse, the teeth of the rear wheel’s gear cam are more worn out than, I dare say, my Tatay’s teeth (what little real ones he still has, that is).
Yes, definitely need to give it an overhaul, before I get in an accident because one of its parts didn’t perform as it should have..
