Battery Discharged

June 2, 2011

Woke up early, and as a result I was able to have the physical before work.  But I’m drained as a result, so I hope no one will mind if I just turn in early.  There’s really little to talk about today anyway, so…

Okay, not exactly. I was surprised to see one of my high school classmates waiting in the ground floor lobby of the building my office was located in.  I thought she was there for an emigration application (we share building space with a company that specializes in processing emigrations to Canada and England), but apparently she was just there for an interview with one of the other call centers there.

While we didn’t exactly catch up on old times, it was nice to see someone from the old days.  We weren’t exactly close, but she was one of the few people who didn’t just flat ignore me (she played guitar and was in a band, which I thought was cool).  We talked a bit about our lack of financial luck, about the people we knew who were well-off by now, and other bits of nostalgia.

Oh, and apparently she has an eleven-year-old daughter. You can imagine how awkward I felt when the conversation went there.

It’s funny, she mentioned that I hadn’t changed one bit.  I don’t know if I should be happy for that or not.
