Well, it’s been a day since I turned in the final submissions to my Screenplay Writing Techniques class, and I can now truly say that that particular ordeal is over. Done and done. Yet another chapter in my academic career closed, and one that I’d rather not revisit ever again, that’s for sure. Talk about down to the wire… It was really a good thing that my supervisor allowed me to have a five-day leave of absence (since I used up all my Vacation Leave points months ago), as I literally needed most of that to even, well, finish the last twenty-odd pages before the end of the screenplay. Nevermind the Academy-formatting and binding. I think I was able to submit things with around two hours to spare, but that’s really cutting it close.
I’m not hoping to get a really high grade out of this term. Heck, I think passing is a bonus at this point. I just don’t want to experience this ever again.
To say that it was stressful was an understatement, and the constant writing deadlines really took its toll on my health. Sleep schedule disruption aside, and the fact that I seemed to have consumed more energy drinks over a single month’s period than I’d ever done so before in my life, do remember that whenever I get stressed out I tend to over-eat, and boy, has both my waistline and my weight ballooned to unforeseen heights. Ergh, it’s definitely going to be rough trying to lose all that poundage, especially since it’s the Christmas season and all.
So, I’m guessing that I have around, oh, twenty-odd days to myself before I have to return to the depressing and stressful world of post-graduate academia, and let me tell you I’ll try to make the most of it. Hobby backlog aside, lets see if some abstinence can put a dent on that flab… But first I need to burn all the manuscripts I have of that screenplay, and delete all my records of it in my HD. There are such horrors that shouldn’t ever come to light after all.
