I was actually ready for a relatively busy closer to the week when I arrived at work early today, only for my expectations to be overturned, to my surprise. It seemed that the person I was sharing a system profile with had an overlap of schedules today, which meant that as long as he was on duty, I couldn’t use seventy percent of my programs. This meant that, up to eleven in the morning, which was well past half of my workday, I was kept on membership application duty (and the rare CS call on the side). By the time he logged out, well, I suppose the folks manning the workforce queue forgot to restore me to my usual duties, heh.
That isn’t to say that I coasted through the day, as alluded to in this entry’s title, oh no. Y’see, the frequency of calls coming in on that one just increased reversely proportional to the number of people on the floor, which meant that by the time it was past noon (and as such there were only three of us left on the floor), the avail times started to become erratic, ranging from non-existent to barely longer than three minutes. That said, it seemed a fair exchange, especially since for much of the morning that preceded that, I was left to my own devices, given the large gap in between calls (and very minimal CS calls to boot!).
Apparently there’s a storm incoming, which meant that there was a fair amount of rain today. Thankfully when the deluge came I was indoors taking in calls, though the few of us left were worried that it would continue until our shift ended. That didn’t turn out to be the case though, and it was actually sunny enough for me to break out the polarized attachments to my glasses when I walked (yes, I walked since I didn’t have any pocket money left, and the nearest ATM of my bank was offline) to the MRT station.
It remained mostly sunny for the rest of the afternoon too, even when I went to the gym for my late-afternoon session, and well past the point where I was done with my exercise routine and returned home. Indeed, from the sound of things outside, it’s just starting to rain again just now. I think that’s a good thing, since that’ll ensure that the rest of the evening will be cool (which means by extension that I won’t have to use the A/C, heh).
And that’s it for my day I suppose. I’ll see if I can use the rest of the time to upload some pictures and set up downloads before I return to bed though.
