I was a little worried that I’d mess up at work today. Given how much time I spent playing Dawnguard, I barely had two hours of sleep. It’s a miracle I was able to actually walk like a normal person and login in properly once I got to work, instead of staggering and moaning like the stereotypical call center zombie. And to think I didn’t even drink coffee for breakfast, though I did eat a full meal for a change before I left.
It was raining a bit by the time I was about to leave home, so I decided this time to bring an umbrella with me to work. Once I got there, it was pretty much my typical Sunday, which is to say that the call queue was full, and the calls came in fast. We had a full complement of people though, so the calls were evenly-distributed among us. Which is to say, there was enough of an avail time for us to catch our breath. It wasn’t huge, but at least it allowed some of the stress to level off before another call came in.
As usual, the queue spiked around ten o’clock or so, but after that the avail times grew enough that we can either chat or nap. Mostly it was the latter. Indeed, I spent my forty-five minute lunch break sleeping. I woke up two minutes after it should have ended, though I think that the nap did a lot for my peace of mind.
It started raining hard around that time, to the point that some of my office mates were worried once more about being stranded at the office, and on a weekend at that. I had less to worry about, since I had an umbrella, but with the wind there’s always the danger of being soaked accidentally. Still, it wasn’t that much of an issue, as the rain had lost strength by the end of our shift.
Normally I’d spend the Sunday afternoon after getting off work watching the anime I downloaded for the day (in this case it was Dog Days S2), but frankly I was tired. As soon as I finished stuffing myself, and a bit of reading, it was off to bed. Went to sleep around three-thirty, and I just woke up an hour or so ago. I don’t think one can count that as a nap, given how long it was, but I think I deserved it this once.
It’s raining hard right now (or at least it was until a few minutes ago). Though our roof normally doesn’t leak, there’s also strong winds accompanying the downpour this time, which meant that somehow some of that water is getting through the spaces in the nails that hold the roof in place. So we had limited leaking, which meant that I had to help father climb up to the space between the roof and our rooms to put some empty containers to forestall the leaks.
Leaks aside, at least the night will be cool enough for a comfortable night’s sleep.
