As I feared, the review that happened on Thursday was an abject failure, and was enough to drop me to yellow status. This means that I don’t get any bonus for the month, which is really painful as without the bonus my pay isn’t really that big to begin with. This does mean that I have to pay attention and do better this month, though there’s definitely increased pressure, as it’s we’re reaching the height of the US tax season. Ugh.
I would be lying if I wasn’t disappointed in myself, though in this case I only have myself to blame. Couldn’t keep up the momentum, I suppose. It was enough for me to more or less literally sleep weekend away.
But anyway, it’s a new month, and while it’s also a new opportunity to screw myself over massively, it’s also a new chance to do better, yes?

I wouldn’t exactly call it a fiasco, but the fact is I didn’t have any great calls last night. And given my team lead’s pattern of picking calls that average five to nine minutes in length, that means I’m going to have issues. Buh. I’ll have to chalk it to experience and then focus on just making tonight’s calls better. I hope.
So yeah, I’m anxious, and want to go to work early to be able to check just how badly I screwed up the phone review last night. I was so anxious, in fact, that I only was able to go to bed well after noontime.
Speaking of noontime, it was a relatively overcast day over all, and it did not help improve my mood. Ugh.
I’ll just have to see, and really pay attention this time.

I received my first phone review for the week last night, and while it isn’t included in the stack rack computations, it’s just another reminder of the “you didn’t do anything wrong, but you didn’t do more” mindset of the people back at Minneapolis. By all measures it was a great call… except that there was going to be extra effort involved for the client. In the end, rather than a green, I got a yellow instead. Drat.
And I’m still expecting three before the week ends. So yeah, I still have to be vigilant tonight, and watch myself during the calls. Ugh, talk about pressure.
Experienced another existential crisis attack before I went to bed earlier today. Hopefully that doesn’t affect my work tonight too.

Of course, our team lead just had to tell us that we had three more phone reviews incoming over the course of the week. As if some of us didn’t already have enough pressure, especially for those of us who’ve already incurred errors for the month. Hmph. In any case, it’s just another reminder for me to not slack off calls for the next two evenings.
I’m kind of worried about last night’s calls though, as while I didn’t have any escalations, there were still a few calls that I feel I could have definitely done better on. I’m just hope to pass if one of those did get pulled.
Ah, need to focus my mind on other things. Just take it one call at a time, I suppose.

I don’t want to jinx the rest of the week by saying this, but last night’s shift was sort of okay. No escalations, though because our team lead and his assistant weren’t on the floor for most of the night, I did have to call the coaching queue for a few niggling issues. I’m kind of hoping that it continues into this night’s shift as well, but I’ll just have to see, which means keeping on guard and watching myself through the evening as well.
Oh, and apparently I’m losing weight, though it’s not as fast as I’d like. As I expected, just cutting down on what I’m eating isn’t enough, I’m going to have to supplement it somehow with aerobic exercise. But with my schedule, just how could I fit in something like running into it? Hmm.
Well, as my sister says, if you want to do it, just do it.

With the error I incurred at the end of last week, I’m a bit wary as I prepare for work, as it’s the little mistakes that I often get the worst scoldings at the office. *sigh* It’s another thing I have to improve upon, avoiding the little mistakes I mean, so I could also work on not making any big ones.
At this point, I’m going to have to content myself in trying not to screw up for the remaining week of February, so I can still expect the bonus next month. No pressure, right?
So my focus tonight… will be to avoid any embarrassing brain-farts like that.

Yep, RNG took pity this time.
Kantai Collection’s drop RNG seems to have given me a bit of a break this morning, as I managed to get Okinami on my third run into E-2. This, coupled with the fact that I got Umikaze yesterday after an afternoon’s worth of farming, meant that for me, the Winter 2016 in-game event was officially over. So it’s back to recouping resources (and buckets!) for the next three months, in preparation for the next event, which is likely to give us here on the browser-side access to the recently-revealed USS Iowa.
That said, I still spent most of the afternoon clearing the extra operations for Worlds 1 to 3, if only to avoid forgetting about it later on.
Otherwise, it’s been a pretty slow day, unless you count how I was shamelessly stuffing myself with carbohydrates since it was a weekend.
